Biography
“Bădiță” was one of the greatest talents ever produced by Universitatea’s football school. Badea played his first senior match for Universitatea aged just 16, and by 20 he was already one of the side’s most important players. He stayed until 1992, then spent three and a half seasons in Switzerland with Lausanne-Sport. For the next five years, until 2001, he played with success for clubs in South Korea and Japan. Back home, he carried on playing in Craiova until he was 37, for Extensiv and Universitatea Craiova. He briefly coached Universitatea (2003) and in 2013 served as the club’s president.
