Biography
Gabi Boldici came through every level at Universitatea – children, juniors, youth and senior football. His rivalry with Silviu Lung for the starting place in Craiova Maxima’s goal was one of the most compelling in Romanian football. He made his first-team debut at 19 and retired at Universitatea too, in 1993. Between 1985 and 1988 he kept goal for Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea and Electroputere. His honours include no fewer than three league titles with Universitatea Craiova (1980, 1981 and 1991). As an assistant or goalkeeping coach he worked at Universitatea Craiova, Steaua and the Romanian national team.
