Biography
The numbers of the man nicknamed “the Pelé of Craiova” are remarkable, as are those of most of the Craiova Maxima players. Costică Donose won two league titles with Universitatea Craiova (1979–1980 and 1980–1981), four Romanian Cups with Universitatea (1977, 1978, 1981, 1983) and one more Romanian Cup with Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea in 1973, and played 396 top-flight matches, scoring 60 goals, plus 26 European games.
With the national team he shared Ion Oblemenco’s fate: Donose never found a place in the senior side, though he played 35 matches for Romania at junior level and another 20 for the Olympic team.
